Mannaniya College of Arts and Science is a government-aided higher education institution affiliated with the University of Kerala, founded in 1995. Located in Pangode, a historic village nestled near the edges of the Reserve forests of Western Ghats, bordering the Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala, the college owes its establishment to the visionary foresight of a group of erudite and devout religious scholars from the Jamia Mannaniya Islamiya Charitable Society
Nestled amidst lush greenery and sprawling across 16 acres of picturesque land, the campus provides a serene ambiance conducive to the teaching-learning process. Commencing its operations on 03.07.1995, the college welcomed its first batch of students on 11.08.1995, offering three courses initially: BA Islamic History, B.Sc. Polymer Chemistry, and B.Com Co-operation. Over the years, the institution has expanded its offerings, both in terms of quantity and quality, driven by competence and innovation.
In 1999, the college introduced B.Com Travel and Tourism, followed by the commencement of M.Com in 2013. Additionally, the transition of B.Sc. Polymer Chemistry into B.Sc Chemistry occurred in 2014, and the introduction of BA Economics and Media Studies took place in 2020. Currently, we offer five undergraduate programs and one postgraduate program. Starting from the academic year 2024-25, we will offer four-year degree programs (honours degree & honours with research degree).
Since 2004, the college has held the prestigious 2(F) and 12(B) status conferred by the UGC. Moreover, in December 2010, it attained minority status granted by the National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions (NCMEI). Additionally, the college achieved accreditation from NAAC with a B+ grade in 2020.
