ASAP
Additional Skill Acquisition Programme (ASAP) Kerala is a Section-8 Company of the Department of Higher Education, Government of Kerala, that focuses on skilling students and the general community to enhance their employability. Instituted in 2012, ASAP Kerala transitioned to a company under the Companies Act, 2013, in 2021.
With nearly a decade of service, we at ASAP Kerala have become a premier government edTech company, building integrated learning and talent management solutions. ASAP Kerala has nearly become synonymous with skilling, upskilling and reskilling in corporate and academic domains, by offering 150+ contemporary courses in 19 domains and curating a ready-to-deploy workforce. We undertake training through 16 Community Skill Parks and 126 Skill Development Centres instituted across Kerala.
The ASAP program was launched at our college during the academic year 2015-16. Twenty-three students successfully completed the Foundation Programme, which spanned 180 hours and included two components: 100 hours of Communicative English and 80 hours of Information Technology training.In the following academic year (2016-17), the Domestic Data Entry Operator Course, certified by the National Skill Development Corporation of the Government of India, was completed by the same number of students, twenty-three.During the academic year 2017-18, twenty-one students from the final year of BCom Cooperation and BCom TTM successfully undertook various skill courses offered by ASAP as part of the Summer Skill School initiative. Following these courses, students also completed a three-month internship at various firms.Every year, outgoing final-year students participate in multiple Summer Skill Schools, enabling them to enhance their skills significantly, thereby improving their employability prospects.
